New Summer Intern at OREC
Hello Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition followers my name is Michael Joseph Curtis and I am a senior at Fitchburg State University and will be interning this summer for the trade association. I am working on my undergraduate degree in Political Science and hope to continue on to environmental law school as well as receive my master’s degree in environmental law and policy, so hopefully getting to learn about ocean renewable energy will help out along the way. This is my second time to Washington, D.C. but this time I will be able to enjoy it more because I will not have to cram everything the city has to offer in just three days.
I’ve have had a passion for the ocean since I’ve been a little kid where I spent my summers on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. It has always made me interested in its potential and now working here at OREC I get to see what a great source the ocean can be to providing energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This summer I will be doing researching on different aspects in the Ocean Renewable technology arena as well as going to hill meetings to compile this information into the news release and in my weekly blog. So don’t forget to follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ocean-Renewable-Energy-Coalition/102294079850780 ) or follow us on twitter (@oceanrenewable) to know the latest news in ocean energy.
