Membership
Membership in the Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition (OREC) supports the promotion of ocean renewable technologies through direct lobbying and education efforts. Our oceans possess vast resources that can be engaged to provide electric energy, hydrogen, and fresh water with the right technologies. Our goal is to promote the responsible, renewable, sustainable use of these resources through proactive stewardship and development of ocean energy technologies. Benefits and privileges are outlined below.
OREC Overview
Ocean Renewable Energy
Coalition is a newly formed trade association founded to promote energy
technologies from clean, renewable ocean resources. The coalition is

OREC Principles
The Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition (OREC) has
been established to define common ground among ocean renewable industry
participants and promote legislation and regulations that support
industry wide goals.
OREC supports legislation that encourages all ocean renewable
technologies including tidal, wave, current, thermal and offshore
wind.
Legislation and
regulatory policies should be neutral with respect to specific ocean
technologies. Ultimately, market forces and not regulatory policy will
determine the success of a particular technology.
Oceans are a public resource that sustain multiple
uses. Ocean renewable energy technologies are compatible with multiple
uses and contribute to optimizing comprehensive use of our oceans to
the benefit of the public.
If you belong to one of OREC’s coalition partner’s you are eligible to take 20% off OREC’s first year member dues.

Consultant in financials arrangements
I’m an inventor of a device which transfers the vertical motion of waves onto shore, and is cheap to build. A teeter totter, mounted on a block of concrete, on the ocean water, and a cable coming to shore. U.S. patent issued in 1998. Already built one working prototype, in Guatemala, in 1999, and will work on another in 2007, after retiring from the U.S. Agency for International Development. I am the country representative to Kyrgyzstan now, a long way from any ocean.
I had to enter a URL, although I have no web site as yet. So I made up http://www.cliffordbrown.com It is a bogus address.
